    - This does not apply to spouses or children of nationals of Japan if they can prove it.
    - This does not apply to passengers with a visa issued by a Japanese overseas establishment with the date of issue later than the day when the country or region where they are currently staying was designated as an area subject to denial of permission to enter Japan. They must have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result. The test must have been taken at most 72 hours before departure and the sample collection method must be 'nasopharyngeal swab' or 'saliva'.
    - This does not apply to passengers with a visa issued by Japan with "EX-R" or "EX-B" in the Remarks column. They must also have a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result. The test must have been taken at most 72 hours before departure and the sample collection method must be 'nasopharyngeal swab' or 'saliva'.
