05.10.2020 13:24: updated entry restrictions for passengers who arrive from or during last 14 days have been in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States.
Passengers who have been in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, USA or United Kingdom in the past 14 days must have:
- a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) nucleic acid test result. The sample must have been taken at most 72 hours before departure. The certificate must be in Chinese or English, and have the name of the passenger identical to that on the travel document. If the certificate does not meet all the mentioned requirements, a written confirmation in English or Chinese issued by the laboratory or healthcare institution with the name of the passenger must be presented together with the certificate; and
- a letter in Chinese or English issued by the relevant authority certifying that the test laboratory is recognized and approved by the government; and
- a confirmed booking in Chinese or English of an accommodation in Hong Kong for 14 days or more.


01.10.2020 01:00: imposed entry restrictions for passengers who arrive from or during last 14 days have been in United Kingdom.
Passengers who have been in the United Kingdom in the past 14 days must have:
- a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) nucleic acid test result. The sample must have been taken at most 72 hours before departure. The certificate must be in Chinese or English, and have the name of the passenger identical to that on the travel document. If the certificate does not meet all the mentioned requirements, a written confirmation in English or Chinese issued by the laboratory or healthcare institution with the name of the passenger must be presented together with the certificate; and- a letter in Chinese or English issued by the relevant authority certifying that the test laboratory is recognized and approved by the government; and

- This does not apply to passengers with a residence or study visa issued by Hong Kong (SAR China).
- This does not apply to passengers who are arriving from China (People's Rep.), Chinese Taipei or Macao (SAR China) and have not been outside China (People's Rep.), Chinese Taipei and Macao (SAR China) in the past 14 days.
- This does not apply to spouses and minor children of Hong Kong (SAR China) residents.

- the original report for the nucleic acid test. The report must have the name and identity card or passport number of the passenger; and
- a letter in Chinese or English issued by the relevant authority certifying that the test laboratory is recognized and approved by the government; and
- a confirmed booking in Chinese or English of an accommodation in Hong Kong for 14 days or more.

All passengers who are eligible to enter Hong Kong will be required to undergo 14 days compulsory quarantine.

Passengers are not allowed to transit or enter Hong Kong (SAR China).

20.03.2020 22:46: updated entry restrictions for passengers who arrive from or during last 14 days have been in China, Iran, Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Veneto regions (covering Bologna, Milan, Venice and Verona)).
Passengers who have been in China (People's Rep.), Iran or the Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Veneto regions (covering Bologna, Milan, Venice and Verona) in Italy in the past 14 days, are not allowed to enter if their permitted stay in Hong Kong (SAR China) is less than 14 days.


20.03.2020 22:46: imposed forced isolation.
All passengers who have been outside Hong Kong (SAR China) in the past 14 days are subject to a compulsory quarantine for 14 days.
This does not apply to airline crew.
This does not apply when passengers have only been in Chinese Taipei or Macao (SAR China) in the past 14 days.


17.03.2020 04:26: imposed home/self isolation for passengers who arrive from or during last 14 days have been in Schengen Area.
Passengers arriving from or having been in Korea (Rep.) or a Schengen Member State in the past 14 days, are subject to compulsory home quarantine for 14 days.
