Passengers allowed to enter Italy must communicate their entry to the Department of Prevention at local health units (ASL) of the entrance district; and
- are subject to health surveillance and isolation for 14 days; and
- upon boarding must submit a declaration to the transporting carrier with the reason for travel, the address in Italy and the telephone number used while in Italy.

Passengers traveling as tourists are not allowed to enter Italy.
This does not apply to healthcare personnel traveling on duty and to passengers traveling for health reasons.

10.04.2020 07:48: updated quarantine policy.
Passengers and crew members transiting or entering Italy must inform their transit or arrival to the regional Department of Prevention; and
- are subject to health surveillance and isolation for 14 days;
- must submit a declaration that they entered Italy for proven working requirements for a maximum of 72 hours or for a justified extension for specific needs for additional 48 hours.

Passengers traveling as tourists are not allowed to enter Italy.
Passengers traveling on business, for health reasons, in an emergency or if they are residents are allowed to enter Italy.


23.03.2020 01:22: updated quarantine policy.
Passengers must inform the regional Department of Prevention; and
-are subject to health surveillance and isolation for 14 days; and
-must submit a declaration that they entered Italy for proven working requirements for a maximum of 72 hours, or for a justified extension for specific needs, for additional 48 hours.


20.03.2020 01:06: imposed forced isolation.
Passengers must report to the regional Health Office upon arrival in Italy and be quarantined for 14 days.
This does not apply to passengers traveling for urgent working purposes with a written declaration. They are allowed to enter for 72 hours. Extension of 24 hours is possible.


13.03.2020 15:32: updated entry restrictions.
Passengers traveling as tourists are not allowed to enter via airports in the Lombardy region and the provinces of Alessandria, Asti, Modena, Novara, Padova, Parma, Pesaro and Urbino, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Rimini, Treviso-Venice, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola and Vercelli.


[before 12th March 2020]: imposed entry restrictions for passengers who arrive from or during last 14 days have been in Romania.
Passengers who in the past 14 days have been to or transited through Belgium, Czechia, France (including Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, Reunion and Mayotte), Netherlands, Romania, Spain or the United Kingdom (including Channel Islands, Gibraltar, Isle of Man) and who arrive without a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) molecular or antigenic test taken at most 48 hours before arrival, could be subject to taking the test upon arrival or within 48 hours from arrival.


[before 12th March 2020]: imposed home/self isolation for passengers who arrive from or have been in Uruguay.
Passengers arriving from Australia, Japan, Korea Rep., New Zealand, Romania, Rwanda, Singapore, Thailand or Uruguay are subject to self-isolation for 14 days.


[before 12th March 2020]: imposed entry restrictions for passengers who arrive from or during last 14 days have been in France (Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Corsica, Hauts-de-France, Ile-de-France, New Aquitaine, Occitania, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur regions).
Passengers who have transited through or have been in Croatia, France (Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Corsica, Hauts-de-France, Ile-de-France, New Aquitaine, Occitania, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur regions), Greece, Malta or Spain in the past 14 days:
- must present to the carrier, before departure, a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result, issued at most 72 hours before arrival; or
- take a Coronavirus (COVID-19) test upon arrival or within 48 hours from arrival at a Local Health Authority (ASL).

Passengers arriving in Sicily from Croatia, France (Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Corsica, Hauts-de-France, Ile-de-France, New Aquitaine, Occitania, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur regions), Greece, Malta or Spain are subject to Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test on arrival.
- This does not apply to passengers with a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) test result issued at most 72 hours before arrival.
